English Language For Kids (Grammar)

Welcome to Kids Lesson today i am going to share with you basic grammar for Kids

Ennglish language for kids


On my own / by myself:          Somebody is alone.

On my / your / his / her / its / our / their own 
                        OR
By myself / yourself / himself / herself / itself / ourselves / yourselves / themselves

  • She likes living on her own / by herself.
  • Did you do it on your own / by yourself?
  • Ali is sitting on his own / by himself in corner of the café.
Learner drivers are not allowed to drive on their own / by themselves



For

Two hours / a week / 20 minutes / 70 years / eight days / a long time / five months / ages

Since
7 o’clock / Sunday / Christmas / 14th May / lunchtime / June / they were at school
  



  • I used to teach at L.C.W.
  • We used to eat burgers, but now we left eating junk food.
  • We both used to go to the library and make notes from the classics.
  • There used to be a man in your factory who would know a lot of about gadgets.
  • There used to be a big tree of mango here. 
  • Here used to be a kiosk.


Want   ask       help     would like       would love      would hate      would prefer   expect  beg      mean (= intend)            allow               permit              forbid              advise              recommend     encourage        these verbs can be followed by object
Verb + to…                            
  • We expected to be late.
  • Would you like to go now?
  • He doesn’t want to know.

Verb + object + to…
  • We expect you to come late.
  • Would you like me to help you?
  • She doesn’t want us to attend the party.

Tell      remind             force    enable              teach                order                warn                persuade                      get                        these verbs are only followed by objects

  • Can you remind me to phone him?
  • Who taught you to speak good English?
  • I did not do it by myself.  I got somebody to help me.
  • She told me that the switch was dangerous and warned me not to touch it.
