how to use 1st form use of Infinitive

we use 1st form of verb with "to" , is called infinitive.

I want to tell you. ……(to tell.. is infinitive )

yaad rakhain aisay jumlon main pahla wala verb ho ga jab k dosra verb nai ho ga balkay noun k

Example:

1..I wanted to tell

2..I want to tell

3..I will want to tell

4..I did not want to tell.

Uses and several types of infinitives.

1.. to express purpose (to answer "Why...?")

jab maksad batana ho ga , kyu ka javab dena ho.

Examples:

1..He bought some flowers to give to his wife

us nay kuch phool khareday apni bivi ko dekhany k liyay

(apni bivi ko denay k liyay (to give to his wife) yahan infinitive hai.

2..He locked the door to keep everyone out.

us nay dawaza band keya (sub ko baher rakhnay k liyay)

2.. when we have to say in order to or in order not to:

jab hamain yeh kahna ho “ is garz say”

Examples:

1..We set off early in order to avoid the traffic.

2..They spoke quietly in order not to wake the children

3..Sometimes to-infinitive gives a reason for the adjective:

we were happy to reach home.

4…some time we use infinitive as “subject” of a sentence.

to kill someone is not allowed in islam.

5..We use infinitive to remove gerund.

We dislike drinking soda from a can. (drinking is gerund )

we dislike to drink soda form a can (to drink …is infinitive ,jis nay gerund ko remove kar dya

(To study/Studying) at Beijing University was a dream come true.

I stopped smoking.

I stopped to smoke

6.. After certain verbs with interrogatives (infinitive constructions)

1..They don’t know how to drive

to drive …..is infinitive

2..I knew how to answer him.

to answer……is infinitive.

7..Gerund and infinitive, both can be subject of a sentence.

1..Driving is my hobby……gerund.

2..To drive is my hobby……infinitive.

3..Watching movie is wastage of time….gerund

4..To watch movie is wastage of time….infinitive

8..The infinitive form is used after certain verbs:

1..forget, help, learn, teach, train, choose, expect, hope, need, offer, want, would like

agree, encourage, pretend, promise, allow, can/can't afford, decide, manage, mean, refuse

9..We use an infinitive after adjective “too”

1..Tea is too hot to drink.

2..She is too lazy to work.

3..I am too tall to sit in the car.

10..We use an infinitive with “after” and “first”

1..Ali was the first to come at party.

2..Ali was the last to watch the film.

3..He is the next to get his passport.

11..We use infinitive “to” with auxiliary verbs to form a modal verb,

With “has, have, will have, is, am, are”…..has to, have to, is to, am to, will have to

1..I have to go.

2..I am to go

12..After certain modal verbs .

Used to , About to, Going to, Supposed to, Needd to, Ought to

2..Me drive krny wala hou.

I am about to drive

3..Men naya Mobile khardnay laga hou

I am going to buy a new mobile

4.. Khail nay 7 bajay shuru hona hai.

ya future ka lakin "to" k bad hamisha he "1st form" he ati hai....

13..Bare Infinitive

Zroori nhe k infinitive men verb ki first form k sath “to” lga rhy baazoqat ye begair “to” k bhe ho skta ha yahan dkhen

Let, make ……… let or make ki bht common example hai

Let me go, make him laugh …

ab yahan py hum let to go… ya.. make him to laugh… nhe kr skty ye glt hojaega bare infinitive

wo ha jo hmesha begair “to” k aaty ha asy treeky sy ye jo model verb ha ye bare infinite hoty ha

for example … I will go.. ab yahan will k baad to nhe laga skty…so jitney bhe model verbs ha un ko bare infinitive kha jaat ha kun k un k foran baad verb ki first form aati ha ..
