Nasir Kazmi Poetry Main ne jab likhna seekha tha When I learned to write
Pehle tera naam likha tha
First of all, I wrote your name

Main wo sabr-e-sameem hoon jis ne
I am the absolute patience that
Baar-e-amaanat sar pe lya tha
Look upon itself the weight of trust

Main wo ism-e-azeem hoon jis ko
I am the exalted name to which
Jin-o-malik ne sajda kya tha
Angel and jinns bowed in prayer

Tu ne kyun mera haath na pakra
Why did you not take my hand

Main jab rastay se bhatka tha
When my feet strayed from the path

Jo paaya hai wo tera hai
Whatever I have found is yours
Jo khoya wo bhi tera tha
Whatever I have lost is also yours

Tujh bin saari umar guzaari
I spent the lifetime without you
Log kahain gay tu mera tha
People will say that you were mine

Pehli baarish bhejnay waalay..!
O sender of the First Rains
Main teray darshan ka pyaasa tha
I thirsted for a glimpse of you
