Past Perfect Continuous Tense

It shows any action which was started from a specific time of past and remained on going in past.

yeh tense mazi ka aik aisa action show karta hai, jo mazi main kisi khas waqt say shuru hua or mazi main he jari raha…

yeh action akhri report tak khatam nai hua or jari raha.

woh 20 din say aik he ketab parh raha tha.

yani us nay mazi main 20 din aik he ketab parhe..or akhri waqt tak parh raha tha.

Subject+had been+1st form+ing+object+time duration

Formula

Identity….raha tha, rahe the, rahy thay…duration

ta raha, te rahe, tay rahay….(could be without duration)

Helping Verb…Had been

Verb….1st form+ing

Singular/Plural…had been

Pakistan 1947 say tareke kar raha tha.

Pakistan had been progressing since 1947.

Interrogative

Kya woh mehnat karta raha?

Had he been working hard?

Negative

Woh bachpan say Urdu nai bol raha tha.

He had not been speaking Urdu since his childhood.

Use of Since/ for

Since....uncountable time k sath istemal hota hai...jis ka app plural nai bana sakty...

morning. evning, 2018, july ...in lafzon ka koi plural nai hai

For....Countable time k sath ata hai....day, month, year, hour....in k app plural bana sakty hain..
